WEDDING,

SANDREY—KELLAND. A wedding was quietly celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Timaru, recently, when Emma Lilian, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J. Kelland, of Timaru, was married to William S. Sandrey. of Ilam Road, Riccarton. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. H. W. Monaghan, and Mr Vine was organist.

The bride, who was escorted by her brother, wore a graceful gown of lupin triple georgette, with rucked corsage, and wide circular skirt, ankle-length at the foot, and finished with a border of a hand-worked design in silver and a darker tone of lupin. Her felt hat to match was trimmed with narrow stray edging of a deeper -tone, and finished with French motifs, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream and lupin hot-house flowers, and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by three nieces as bridesmaids. Miss Chapman wore a frock of triple beige georgette, with long tight bodice and silk inset, with silk lace forming an uneven hemline, while the waist was finished with a wide georgette sash, falling to the ankle. Her hat of beige felt matched her frock. Aliss Bertha Sandrey and Aliss Noeline Sturgess also wore beige frocks of a lighter shade, made with tight-fitting bodices, short puffed sleeves, and circular skirts trimmed with narrow picot-edged frills, while their broad sashes were tied each in a large butterfly bow at the back. They wore floral headbands of lupin and beige flowers, and all three carried Victorian posies of autumn-tinted flowers with lupin streamers to match the bride’s gown. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr A. H. Sandrey, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s ! brother, Mr J. Kelland, of Selwyn Street.

Later the bride travelled in a frock of marine blue crepe satin beaute, patterned in conventional designs in tones of coral and pigeon. Her slightly flared coat was of marine Givre Steltane, and she wore a smart hat of ballibuntl straw to tone. Mr and Mrs Sandrey’s future home will be in Christchurch.
