CRICKET.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS. The results of last week's matches were as follow: A. GRADE. South v. West.—Playing on Anzac Square, South registered a 3-point win against West. West batted first, and made 44 (Earwaker 13, Kilgour 9, Moore 8, and L. Gilmore 8). South followed with 93 for five wickets (declared), Blue and Kemp playing well for 50 and 43 respectively. In their second strike, West made 12. For West, Earwaker and Kilgour were the best bowlers, while for South, Blue took 13 wickets for 27 runs, and Ede 6 for 20. Waimataitai v. Main.—Main were sent in to bat, and made 26 runs, Aitcheson 9, being the only boy to make any stand. For Waimataitai, MacDonald took five wickets for 8 runs, and Welford five for 12. Waimataitai fared little better, as only three batsmen managed to open their accounts. A total of 30 was contributed, mainly by Welford 18, and Currie 9. For Main, Mason took five for 13, Hutchison two for 1, Morgan 2 for 5. In their second strike, Main declared at 35 for seven wickets (Henderson 10, Morgan and Crisp each 9 not out). At stumps, Waimataitai had scored 21 for four wickets, the match thus resulting in a win for Waimataitai by four runs on the first innings. B. GRADE. Waimataitai 78 defeated West 31. South 57 defeated Main 17, 27 (3point win). THIS WEEK’S FIXTURES. The grounds for Thursday are:— A. Grade. West v. High, Fraser Park, No. 1. Waimataitai v. South, Anzac Square, No. 1. Main a bye. B. Grade. Waimataitai v. Main, Anzac, No. 2. South v. West, Fraser, No. 2.
