FUTURE OF WOOL.

ENGLISH EXPERT’S ADVICE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received February 23, 5.5 p.m.) . LONDON, February 22. “The ‘Use More Wool,’ campaign will not materially assist the industry, unless the vagaries of fashion are also met by methods of production and utilisation, founded on the same basis as those of the synthetic rivals of wool, namely a full knowledge of the scientific foundamentals of the fibre itself,” states Dr S. G. Barker (Director of Research for the British Reserve Association for Woollen and Worsted Industries). Wool is the finest possible material for body clothing. It is light and has tensile strength equally castiron. It creates heat in itself, when wetted. British manufacturers can, through scientific investigation, link up with their Dominion colleagues, and exploit wool, in perhaps entirely new lines, leading to an assured future.
