Britain has notified the rejection of the latest offer, which - is £1,000,000 short of the British needs. It is expected that the Conference will be adjourned without result tomorrow. Delegates of the four Powers were working till early morning, and completed a new written offer. The Powers intimated that It was their last word. AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. ACTUAL VALUE OF POWERS’ OFFER. (United Press Association—By Electr'o Telegraph—Copyright.) THE HAGUE, August 28. It is officially announced that Mr Snowden has turned down the latest offer. The long, intricate, actuarial document by the four Powers, the British Experts estimate is equivalent to 60 per cent, of Mr Snowden’s demands, on one basis, and 57 per cent, on another. CONFERENCE THROWN INTO CHAOS. REFERENCES TO PERILOUS ADVENTURE. (United Prase Association—By Kiectris Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received August 27, 8.15 p.m.) THE HAGUE, August 26. Mr Philip Snowden’s rejection of the latest offer has again thrown the conference into chaos. The French emphasise that the four Powers have no further offer to make, and the initiative has been transferred to Britain. They point out that Mr Snowden has never yet intimated the figure he would accept. M. Loucheur (France) describes Mr Snowden’s refusal as a painful surprise. He cannot believe that Britain will persist in refusing to come to a reasonable agreement. If the Young Plan is redrafted, the Powers will enter upon a perilous adventure, so France refused to co-operate in the demolition of the Young Plan, but awaits Mr Snowden’s proposals. A French correspondent telegraphing to the "Daily Telegraph” from The Hague says: “The impression to-night is that Mr Snowden will not be satisfied unless 80 per cent, of Britain’s claims are met, according to his own valuation.
