DOMESTIC TRAGEDY.
WOMAN BATTERED TO DEATH. (United Preea Aaaociation—By Eleetr l * Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received August 27, 8.15 p.m.) ADELAIDE, August 27. A terrible tragedy is reported from Cockburn, near Broken Hill. Mrs Clara Crowe, aged 35, was found dead in bed, with a rifle bullet in her head, which was also mutilated with an axe. Her husband, David Crowe, who is a railway porter, was found poisoned, and is in a critical condition. The grim discovery was made by a thirteen-year-old daughter.
