BOWES-LYON STORY.

Apropos of the story from Australia that the Duchess of York's first cousin was a third-class passenger on the Orama, the Bowes-Lyon family state that they are not aware of any relation visiting Australia. One member said: “If she is my sister-in-law, she has not lost six brothers at the war.’’
[A cable received last night said that aboard the Orama, as a third-class passenger, was Mrs Marie Evelyn Ernest (nee Bowes-Lyon), a first cousin of the Duchess of York. “She is accompanied by two women companions. Mrs Ernest reluctantly admitted her identity to a pressman, and said that she did not want any more publicity than could be avoided.
