THE WEATHER.
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate easterly; weather fair and cold. Dominion Meteorologist. A fairly intense anti-cyclone is covering the Tasman Sea, and is moving on to New Zealand. Expect winds moderate to strong southeasterly from Cook Strait northwards, gradually decreasing; elsewhere light to moderate north-westerly. Seas still a considerable swell between Akaroa and East Cape, otherwise smooth to moderate. Weather mainly fair to fine, but some scattered showers still on the coast between Kaikoura and East Cape; unsettled and showery also in the far southern and south-western districts of the South Island. Cold temperatures with inland frosts.
