ANGLO-GERMAN CONTEST. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received August 25' 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 24. Germany defeated England, by eight events to four, in the first AngloGerman athletic contest at Stamford Bridge, since the war. Lord Burghley and Dr. Peltzer participated. Gen—any won the 400 metres relay, discus throwing, three mile team race, pole jump, high jump, long jump, weight putting, one mile medley and relay race. England won the 440 yards hurdles, two mile relay (in 7min. 43 l-ssecs., a British record), one mile, and four mile relay. CHAMPIONSHIPS IN N.S.W. ; i (United Press Association —By Electrio Tel egraph—Copyright.) (Received August 25, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 24. The ten mile track championship of j New South Wales was won by Jeff MacKenzie (Western Suburbs), with his Club mates, Frank Bailey and Sid. Hesketh second and third respectively. MacKenzie’s time was 54min. 51sec. A week ago MacKenzie won the 10,000 metres cross country championship. Gainsford (holder of the ten miles title for five years) was absent owing to influenza.
