DENTAL TREATMENT.

NO SECTARIAN DIFFERENCES, The Grand Lodge of the Loyal Orange Institution recently conveyed to the Minister of Education a resolution passed at the annual session, urging the Government and Parliament to resist and refuse all applications for State aid in any form to private and sectarian schools. “If the reference is to the extension of dental services to the children of private schools,” replied the Hon. H. Atmore, “such extension had my warmest support and advocacy, as I believe all New Zealand children, irrespective of consideration of class, sect or creed, are entitled to such treat--ment, and that in such cases a child’s need constitutes its right. Further, all New Zealand parents are taxpayers, and, as the dental clinics are supportted out of taxation, as a matter of principle and common justice all New Zealand children in need of dental treatment are entitled to it.”
