SPANISH REVOLT SUPPRESSED.
Confidence In Dictator. SERIOUS ILLNESS OF KING. (United Pr®i« Association —F f Kl.utriTolegr.pfi — C«|»yr>xht. » LONDON. February 21. General de Rivera telegraphed the *‘Daily News” that the situation is completely tranquil. The King has the utmost confidence in the Government and holds in the highest estimation its work for the nation. Other messages from Spain support the Dictator’s optimism, but continue to suggest dangerous subterranean elements. Two thousand artillery officers dismissed as a result cf the outbreaks at Ciudad Real and Valencia agreed to take the oath of loyalty to the King And Dictator, which General de Rivera made a condition of reinstatement. lTliey are also prepared to submit- to General do Rivera’s reservation the light to refuse reinstatement to certain officers, but only if the number does not **oeed 100.
Nevertheless observers opine that the artillerists’ submission xs unl.kely to be complete or lasting, at most it is
n temperary truce in order to please the King who is gravely ill, as much as submitting to the Dictator's strong position.
