A PROGRESSIVE FIRM,
This progressive firm started as vulcanisers and have added on one by one, departments to meet the various wants of the motoring public, until to-day, they cater for every branch of the motoring trade, including garaging, repair work, battery service, vulcanising, car cleaning, and in addition they are sole South Canterbury agents ior the famous Goodrich Silverton tyres, the English Talbot and Singer cars as well as Minerva, trucks. To cope with all these departments an up-to-date garage showroom and various workshops have recently been erected. The garage is 105 x 66ft, and the main workshop 50 x 30ft. Tho battery service is as complete ns any- in New Zealand, there being installed two of tho latest charging tungars of the best British make. An expert is in charge of all repair and charging work of this department, and instead of just attending to the batteries and letting it go at tiiat, the cars are carefully gone through to make suro the ignition and batteries arc in working order before the work is passed as finished. The batteries sold are “Peto” and “Radford’s” one of the best English makes wliibh is standardised in tho Rolls Royce and most of the leading English cars. These batteries can be obtained in all sizes suitable for any make of car, as well as wireless. The general car repair work is in charge of Mr J. Forest, and car owners can roly on thorough workmanship for* all repairs entrusted to the firm, and as this department, when complete, will have tho very latest machinery' not only to do repairs but to do them as quickly as possible, all charges will be ■ found reasonable. The wash stand for cars is unusually well arranged for the actual washing, greasing and oiling of machines. All this work will have most careful attention. A storeroom lias been built to accommodate the large stock of Goodrich Silverton tyres. The room is cool and dark to preserve tliei stock, and special fittings are inserted to hold the tyres in the proper way. 'Tyres suitable for every car and size -will be always in stock. As well as the Goodrich Tyres, i ample supplies are kept of other lines of the Goodrich productions, such as gum boots and all accessories. The garage is modern, and in every way suits the public and the work'required. There is an up-to-date office, fine show window, and the whole building* is blight, light and airy. Vulcanising will be carried on. on the same up-to-date lines, the latest machinery being installed, and the work being under the personal supervision of tho proprietors,, Messrs Dunnett and Downey. Every make and grade .of petrol supplied from bowsers, as well as oil. grease and all other accessories required by the motorist will be oh sale. The proprietors will be pleased Ito welcome and show over their rooms, old friends and new ones. ...
