A deputation will wait on tho Mayor (Mr Geo. J. Wallace) this (Monday) afternoon, at 2.15, at the Borough Council Chambers, to request lr.tm to allow himself to bo nominated 'for n further term of office. The deputation will bo a large and influential one. Ail and electors interested are cordially invited to be present.

The following particulars of the loan transactions of tho Public Trust Office and ral.v business reported during the month ended 28th February, 1927, have been supplied by the Prime Ministers office: —The amount paid out in sttt.cment of new loans was £l/4,1)90, making a total of £2,300,9)5 s.nco the beginning of the present financial yeai on Ist April, 1926. Further new leans amounting to £48,625 were granted, bringing the total of now loans cm hand awaiting completion to £536,933, to which must be added the c/lers made of loans less than the full amounts applied for. These amount to £167,250, making a grand total of £7Ol, lb 3. Hiere aro also on hand hr additional loans, amounting to £326,578. Tho value of the new estates ampted for administration was £387,228, making tho total new estates bus;Less for the current year £5,01 -!,do9 —an amount in excess of the value lor the previous year, with a month still remaining in the current financial year. A further 404 wills were deposited for safe custody by living _ testators, making the total now held 53,131.
