The postponed second day’s racing of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s meeting opened in showery weather, with no change until late in the afternoon, when the sun burst through. Considering the conditions, there was a fair attendance. The course was heavy, but there were no mishaps during the day. The totalisator handled £21,682/10/-. Latest reports are that Windbag considerably improved over the week-end. He revisited the tracks this morning, and although his leg was still tender, he showed little sign of lameness. He was not exercised, and it will be impossible till he is galloped to tell whether he can go on with his preparations, but the outlook certainly has improved. He will be left amongst the first acceptors for the Sydney Cup, which make their appearance to-day. He will also be nominated for the weight-for-age events at Randwiek
