Speaking at the Hospital Board meeting, Dr. Valintine said he was heartily ip agreement with .the proposal by the Otago University that the Department should send two nurses abroad to gain experience; but then came the amazing suggestion that the Department should pay them salaries on their return to New Zealand. He suggested, if anything were done, it should begin with the Auckland University, because Auckland bad the largest hospital in New Zealand, and for that reason was entitled to greater consideration.
