The agenda of tins Independent Labour Party’s conference at Leicester includes a recommendation from Dundee that the Government should purchase, in bulk essential food imports from the Dominion, and elsewhere, and fix reduced retail prices, obviating speculators and • middlemen, and that the Party should negotiate with the Dominions’ Labour Parties and Governments to prepare to cheapen food prices on th© advent of a British Labour Government. West Cornforth suggests reviewing Mr Ramsay MacDonald’s position in the Party in view of his recent criticisms of the Independent Labour Party wage proposals. Other resolutions protest against the Government’s unemployment policy, and advocate the raising of the school age, earlier old age peiisions, and a reduction in workers houses. -
