(From Our Own Correspondent.) TENNIS. A match was played at Fairiie between Pleasant Point and Fpirlie Clubs. The scores were as follows (Fairiie ' names first):- —- Ladies' Singles.

Pickering, T. E. Bussell and D. R. Howden. Air E. J. Vavasours resignation as a member of the Society, owing to leaving tho district was accepted with regret. Air G. H. Bryant wrote stating that lie was prepared to cater at the Show on the same conditions as last year. Ale.ssrs AVright Stephenson and Co., wroto donating 121 b of turnip seed as a special prize in the field root classes. It was decided to donate Air T. D. Burnett’s special to class 58—best pen five crossbred one-shear ewes, mostly suitable for keeping up exportation of Canterbury wool and mutton (limited to holders of GOO acres and under or South Canterbury runholdcrs) and bred by exhibitor: The following new members were elected; —Alc.sr.s D. D. Grant, C. N. Porr.ycr, C. L. Orbcll, J. Campbell, S. Ryder, R. R. Beauchamp, and Mrs L. Smith. One tender for £lO was received for the lease of the Show Ground for grazing. It was decided that the tender should not be accepted. It was decided Shat the ground should bo let to anyone who may require it for travelling stock. The various sub-committees were asked to appoint their class stewards, and submit names to the meeting.
