MASTER TAILORS AND EMPLOYEES.

Members ot the Tailors’ Operatives’ Union were the guests of the employers at a supper when a combined commit, tec submitted several proposals for the 'improvement of the conditions generally, each demanding concessions on both sides. AH tho proposals put forward were adopted by largo majorities. Tho committee wili remain in existence to deal with any future disputes. Tho leaders in the trade state that tho present conditions are ruining production. The trouble generally is attributable to an undoubted attitude of suspicion and distrust existing between employer and employee. In an endeavour to do away with siicli hindrances meetings of this nature are to be held regularly.
