ATHLETICS.
Y.M.C.A. CLUB. At a meeting of the committee of the Y.M.C.A. A.A. Club, it was decided to hold the first evening meeting oil Thursday, October 21, at the Caledonian Grounds, provided the consent of the Caledonian Society could be obtained. Some cori-espondence with the Canterbury Centre regarding a proposed meeting here on February Hi for some American athletes, -was received. The Canterbury Centre also advised that the application for reinstatement by Dobbs would be considered by the New Zealand Council at their* October meeting, and that the Centre was pressing for a review of Reid’s application at the same time. The rules governing the winning of Mr C. AY. Cameron’s trophy were received, and now rules were fixed ns follow's:—That the trophy be won by the member attaining the highest aggregate of points during the season, points to he awarded as follows: —5 points for every Club meeting at which a member competes, and :l, 2, and 1 points respectively for a* first, second or third in a championship event at the proposed meeting to lie held at the end of the season. In the event of there being a tie, Hie final decision to i-est with the committee. Tiie following programme was decided on for the evening meeting on the 21st October:—7s yards, 1 mile, and long jump. It was decided to purchase 25 silver buttons and to have them suitably engraved.
