(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOOTBALL. The Geraldine Sports’ Association have arranged to have the football oval lit by electricity. The Power Board now have the work on hand, and it will bo completed before the season is much further advanced. POWER SUPPLY. A number of extentions to the electric lines aro being carried out in. the Geraldine District, and now consumers arc being rapidly connected. A good number of electric ranges are being installed. FARMERS’ UNION. After Wednesday’s elieep sale, Mr IT. R. Flack, a sheep fanner from North Otago, gave a lecture to a representative meeting of members of the Union, on “Diseases in Sheep and Lambs.” He gave details of the development, and remedies to be used. CANTERBURY COLLTE DOG CHAMPIONSHIP. This, year’s championships were held at Culverden, when two South Canterbury competitors were successful in winning the two championship events. Mr C. Parker, of B mice’s Pass, won the “heading” with “George,” and now holds the Archer and Peterson Challenge Cups, as well as a silver cup and a substantial cash prize. Air G. Kooffe was successful in the “liuntaway” with “Glon,” and holds the Aloiitroso Challenge Shield, also the Ballautyno and Christchurch Collie Club’s Challenge Cups, a silver cup won straight out, and a cash prize. This is tho first time that these valuable trophies have come south of Christchurch.
