INQUESTS. By Telegraph--Press Association DUNEDIN,' June 21. The inquest concerning the death of Leonard Pliilp, who was burned in a, fire in Carroll Street, was held to-day before Mr Bartholomew, S.M., who returned a verdict that death was duo to •>. .o uxia and -shock. An inquest into the circumstances of the death of Mrs Helen Man- Grov, widow, who was drowned at Taieri Mouth, was held this evening. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
COLLISION AA'JTtf TRAM. By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, Juno 21. A collision between a motor-cycle with side-car attached and a Mornington cable car at C.lO this evening resulted in Peter Reekie (27) and Charles William ■ Anderson (47) receiving severe injuries to their heads. Both men wore admitted to hospital in an unconscious condition, but it was reported to-night that their injuries were not expected to prove fatal. BODY FOUND. Through a fall from a motor-cycle on Saturday night at Ashley, a young mail named Robert Hamilton received an injury, which resulted in his death in Christchurch Hospital at 5.20 this afternoon. INJURED BY EXPLOSION. Douglas Frith, married, aged fortyfive, was admitted to hospital to-day with his left hand almost severed, as a result of an acetylene explosion following the bursting of a generator. A distressing drowning fatality occurred at Taieri Mouth yesterday, when Mrs William Grey, of Roslyn, slipped on the rocks, struck her head, and 101 l into the watei. Robert Gray (aged 10 years), went out alone in a huuidi. It appears that near the harbour entrance the engine gave trouble, baekfucH, threw Gray down and rendered him unconscious. Tlie launch took lire, and tho boy was .seriously burned on the lace, arms and legs. Later lie regained consciousness and despite liir. injuries, rowed in a dinghy n short distance, when ho was seen and taken to liospiLnl, where he lies in a critical condition. The launch was badly burned *md sank.
