Following the refusal of tho West Ham Guardians to abate tho scale of relief for unemployeds amounting to 55s for man and wife and family ol six, Mr Novillo Chamberlain (Minister of Health) states the “Daily Mail,” has issued an . ultimatum to tho Guardians refusing further loans, and threatening to supersede . tho Guardians when existing funds arc exhausted. It is jminted out that tho Guardians arc bankrupt-. They owe the Ministry of Health £1,970,000 besides a Bank overdraft- of £390,000.
