SIDELIGHTS ON GERMAN INTRIGUE.
EX-KAISER’S AMAZING BOOKBy Cable —Press Association— Copyright. Sydney “ Sun ” Service. (Received Juno 11, midnight.) LONDON, June 10. The “Daily News” says that prominent Germans are apprehensively awaiting the publication _of the exKaiser’s memoirs, which it is feared will result in a political crisis. It transpires that there was almost an open breach between the ex-Kaiser, and the Crown Prince in 1923 owing to the Monarchists demanding the exKaiser to abdicate in favour of "Little Willie,” in the event o fthe overthrow of the . Republicans. The ex-Kaiser thereupon secretly intrigued in Germany, with the assistance of /Ludendorff in splitting the Monarchists. He also refused to allow the ex-Crown Prince Monarchists to road the memoirs prior to publication causing a fear that the memoirs would include revelations of post-war events, the ex-Kaiser had previously promised not to publish. The Monarchists burgled tlio printers and stole the rough proofs, which confirmed their suspicions. The memoirs contained three suppressed chapters, the first entitled “I shall reign again,” and detailing the Monarchists’ activities. The second declared that Hindenburg accepted the presidentship with the idea of assisting the ex-Kaiser to'regain the throne. The third was entitled “A Son’s Perfidyconsisting of an astounding outburst against the Crown Prince. It is believed the memoirs will accuse prominent Republicans of supporting the Monarchists in an effort to persuade the ex-Kaiser to withdraw. If ho refuses, it is believed the Government will suppress the memoirs.
