The “Daily News” says that while it is stated that France possesses documents showing the extent to which European countries, particularly Russia, Germany and Italy, helped Krim, Spain obtained much more startlin'; documents from Krim’s brother, Simohamnied, prior to the surrender, alleging that General Lvnutey entered into direct negotiations with . Krim, which were detrimental to Spain, six months before France entered the war, also that he allowed manufacturers to supply Krim with munitions. When negotiations broke down, General Lvnutey realised that Krim was using France ns a pawn, and found a pretext for declaring war. A British 'officer, formerly ctnnloyecl in the Indian Supply Transport Service, conveyed letters to the political leaders in Madrid.
