INDIAN ARMY TEAM. VICTORY IN WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Juno 3. Spectacular hockey was witnessed to-day when the Indian Army team and the Wellington representatives met and gave undoubtedly tlio finest exhibition of hockey yet witnessed in Wellington. The attendance was thirteen thousand. The visitors showed marvellous combination, and seemed to anticipate each others’ movements. Play was very last,’ and shifted from ■ nd to end with lightning rapidity. Wellington were enthusiastically cheered when they netted their first goal. Knowles, who •was responsible, netted a second time, but was off-side. In the first half, Captain Bedchamber scored two goals, Captain Cox one, and Dhian Cliand two. In the second half, Bedchamber netted two, and Dhian Chand one, while Frances and Jacobsen scored for Wellington. KING’S BIRTHDAY GAMES. Visitors to tlic Park yesterday were treated, to some spectacular hockey. In the men’s section, the big gamo between the South Canterbury representative team and Geraldine County representative team resulted in win for the former by 4 goals to 3. For the winners goals were scored by Turner 12), Anderson and Quartcrmain, while for the losers Rawstom notched three goals. Messrs L. Bennington and L. Dockrill controlled the game.

LADIES’ GAMES. Geraldine mot Timaru, and were defeated by 3 goals to L Eor the winners goals were scored by E. Tutty (2), E. btokes (1). Eor tlic losers E. Turley found the net. Messrs L. Davis and A. Goodman controlled the game. Stafford and Temuka met on No. 2 ground, and a fine game resulted in the former winning by 4 goals to nil. Miss M. Packman secured all the points. Messrs W.
