PARISH A!FETING. The annual meeting of parishioners of the Anglican Church was held in the Parish Hall, the vicar, Rev. H. J-'iirclias, presiding. The chairman said it had been customary to hold sectional meetings at the various church centres. On acj count of the late date of the meeting this year, it had not been possible to do this. Air G. I. Hamilton had resigned his position as people’s warden, owing to his having left for England, and Air F. Burns had consented to carry on up to the date of the annual i meeting. The opinion had been ox- ; pressed that they had better obtain I the services of an accountant to rej lieve tlio churchwardens of the financial part of their work, which had become very onerous, and they had been fori tunate in obtaining the services of Air IT. H. Bannolir. Air Rurehas referred ! to the special appeals fund, for which jhe felt responsible. It had reached the I good sum of £372; due to the efforts lof twenty-five collectors. The chief i J interest in I lie parish at present was! the building of the Woodbury Church, I which was Hourly completed. They ' hoped to hold the dedication servicel in June. On 15th August the Bishop: would hold a confirmation .service at ; Geraldine, and he hoped a social would j be arranged to meet him. In con-j elusion, the speaker briefly referred : to the great loss he had recently suffered, and thanked the people for the sympathy he had received, which he had deeply appreciated. Nearly three hundred expressions of sympathy had been sent to him through letters and telegrams, and it had helped him greatly to feel how his dear wife had been loved and respected. Air T. H. Bannehr presented the balance sheet, which showed the year had commenced with a credit balance

of £555 ss. Receipts included general f'jfTortories -CHI 1. collections £585, special appeals £372. Tlio expenditure included stipends £550, Missions £20(5, St. Orphanage, interest on I parish loans £lll. salaries £BB, lighting, fuel, etc. £79, which, with other items, brought the general expenditure to £1585. The "Woodbury Church rebuilding fund showed that £1525 had been received, and that the expenditure on this account for the year had been £B7O. The year had ended with a, credit balance of £1362, but as there was a liabnty of £862 on the Woodbury Church, and there had been a. net receipt of £IOO from fixed deposits, the actual position showed an increase of approximately £SO during the year.
