TIMARU GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL AfEETTNG. The annua! meeting of the Timaru Gun Club was held in the New Zealand Loan Company’s office. Tho president. Air W. R. Grant, was in the chair, and a large number of enthusiastic members were present. The balance sheet, which showed an excess of assets over liabilities of over £43, was .-.-onsidered very satisfactory, and showed the Club to be in a. sound financial position. The Club has been more than lucky in having as Its patron, ALr John Hole, who has always taken a real interest in its affairs, and he was unanimously elected an honorary life member, members present expressing the hope- that their patron might lie present at their shoots for many more years to come. The Club has amongst its members some- of the finest shots in New Zealand. Its past president, Mr W. Alc-Cullor-li, won the South' Island cla.v bird championship at the Exhibition shoot in Dunedin, another member, Alrt R.' E. Mclllwrick being runner up. Afr O'Connor also shot successfully at the Grand National shoot at Christchurch in August The Club Championship for 1925 was won by Mr 1). Stowell after an exciting contest with Air R. AfcJllwnck, the, issue being in doubt until tlie thirty-first bird. The thanks of the Club wore extended to the Loan and Mercantile Co. for the us© o£ their office, and also to Afr P. AlcDonald for the use of tho ground. The election of officers resulted; — Patron, Air J. Hole; president, Mr W. Stevens ; vice-presidents- Alessns S. F. Hanson, L. B. Pearson, A. B. Annand, P. Davov.R. 'Marshall and AF Huston; committee, Messrs W. R. Grant, P. AlcDonald, C. Heslop, D. Stowell, W., J. McCulloch, R. E. Mclllwrick and P AJ. O’Connor; hon. secretary Mr J. Little; treasurer, Air L. B. Janies; auditor. Air A. B. Annand; handicap-' per and referee, Afr W. Steven's. It was decided to open the coming season with -a shoot at St. Andrews on Afay 8, commencing with a novice match, to ho followed by sweepstakes.
