A meeting of the Federated Seamen’s Unions decided to apply to the Federal Arbitration Court for re-registration. It is understood the action taken by tho. coastal shipowners of New South Wales in engaging volunteer labour to man their ships was largely instrumental in forcing the decision. Tho balance sheet for tho past year was presented at the meeting. It shows a credit balance of 3s 6d, compared with 2s the previous yenr. COASTAL STRIKE. MEN WILLING TO RETURN. SYDNEY, March 17. A meeting of seamen nnd wliarl labourers will be held to-day to discuss the coastal strike position. It is stated that it will he suggested at the meeting that members of botn Unions should present themselves for work on the wharves and ships, with the free labourers offering. The men are said to be willing to resume on the owners’ terms.
