The House, on Tuesday, defeated by 139 to 17 votes, a proposal in the form of an Appropriation Bill Amendment, which would have prohibited resort to “fraud, deceit, and falsehood” in the use of any of the 250,000 dollars set aside for buying liquor, as evidence in prohibition enforcement cases.
