The general committee ol the New /South Wales ltugby Eootball League, approved several drastic changes m the rules, malting the code more attractive, and tightening up the management. , , , Next season will see clubs almost entirely under amateur control. It has been resolved that in future the general committees or district clubs shall consist of appioximately eighteen office bearers, none or "Horn will be active players, and eigiit mem bers, who may or may not he active players. The lteferees’ Appointment Boaru will consist of five members of the general committee of the head body. Ketcrees will nave no say m appointments. Two other recommendations requiiing the approval of the English authorities before they become law, are that after a touch down, the nail shall be brought into play by means of a drop kick from the goal Tme, instead of the twentv-live, and the option of taking the scrum. when a free kick is awarded. The latter is intended to remove the spectacle of a club making a wilful infringement to obtain a scrum as in getting m front of the ball. . None of these matters have vet been referred to Queensland or New /cnInrid, but it is nrobnble they will oe di'onssed bv the Board of Contio . No action-has been taken at present conrerning the visit from New Zealand.
