PRESBYTERIAN SALE OF WORK.
There was a very large attendance at the sale of work in the Tlighiield Presbysterian Church both yesterday afternoon and evening. The sale was opened by the Mayor (Mr G. J. M'ailace), who stated that of all the functions he had attended he had found church functions the most pleasant. I\lr G. T. Dawson proposed a vote of thanks to the Mayor and Mayoress for their attendance, which was carried by • acclamation. The stalls were all laden with saleable articles, and the energetic band of helpers had no trouble in disposing of the goods at satisfactory prices, resulting in the sum of about £7O being raised. 'The following were the stallholders: — Workstall, Mesdames Cunningham, Marshall, Fraser, and the Misses Armstrong; sweets and cakes, Airs Chapman, Misses Hide, Crombic, and Cameron; refreshments, Airs G. T. Dawson, and helpers; produce, Airs Freeman, and Aliases Hi lair and MePhedran; novelty stall, senior Bible Class girls, AI. ss Bogg (convener) ; fish pond, junior Bible Class girls; boys’ Bible Class stall, Air Gordon (convener). The following were the winners of prizes:—Dark fruit cake, Airs AlcLcod; light fruit cake, Aliss Cameron; ginger sponge, Aliss Alellroy; butter sponge, Aliss Alellroy; plain sponge, Airs Fraser, Aliss K. Browne, 2 ; short bread, Airs Freeman; codec cake, Aliss Vucetich; seed cake, Airs Freeman; Neapolitan cake; Airs F. Chapman; oven scones, Airs F. Chapman; girdle scones, Airs F. Chapnpui; pikelets, Aliss Cameron; walnut lout; Airs Wi—mgion.
