FIFTEEN YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. By Tcleeraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 21. At the Supreme Court this morning, John Edward Jeffreys was sentenced to fifteen years’ imprisonment for attempting to murder liis wife, by pushing her over a.cliff at Glentui. Mr Justice Adams said he was satisfied that the prisoner did not act on n sudden or uncontrollable impulse. The v. hole of the circumstances indicated a carefully thought out plan.
