DROWNING ACCIDENT. By Telecrnpt.—Press Association. AYELLINGTON, Nov. 21. Charles Eklnna, a Swede, aged 50, a hulk keeper for the Union Company, while climbing a ladder at Pipita wharf fell back into the sea and apparently struck his head. He was picked up dead. MIRACULOUS ESCAPES. By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, Nov. 21. A car driven over Otoko Hill, skidded and wont over the side, it fell 500 feet. The occupants, E. C. Thomas and his son, were thrown out during the descent, and escaped miraculously with a severe shaking.
