A very' successful plain ,and fancy dress bail was held at sit. Peter’s, Kensington, on Monday last. The hail was prettily decorated, and large revolving electric coloured slides- gave : a pretty etteet. The Grand Alarcn was led oif at 9 p.m. by the chairman and the secretary. (Air H. Alottitt and Aiiss V. R. Hall). Others who- followed in fancy costume were :—Mrs J. Davey, bat; Aiisses A. Hall, Paris mode; L. Vueetich, French , peasant; ]. Alesdames G. A r . Gerard and F. A. Raymond acied as judges and prizes were donated as follows: —Best fancy costume, Air and Aiiss Newman “The Sheik and his Bride”; most original, Aiiss Cicely Davey, ruination; Air S. Chittock, sunerstition. Afiss Dewar’s orchestra supplied good music, and Air C. E. Hooper acted as AI.C.
