THE SOCIAL ROUND.
A very' successful plain ,and fancy dress bail was held at sit. Peter’s, Kensington, on Monday last. The hail was prettily decorated, and large revolving electric coloured slides- gave : a pretty etteet. The Grand Alarcn was led oif at 9 p.m. by the chairman and the secretary. (Air H. Alottitt and Aiiss V. R. Hall). Others who- followed in fancy costume were :—Mrs J. Davey, bat; Aiisses A. Hall, Paris mode; L. Vueetich, French , peasant; ]. Hooper, page boy; Wyatt-, pierrot; Leggott, gipsy; P. Leggott, Arab girl; AI. Olliver, pierrot ; F. AVestern, pierrot; AI. Cross, nurse; E. Gilsen, rainbow; E. Tobin, gipsy; A.- Alann, Canterbury bells; A. AlcGuire “pictorial review” ; B. Boys, superstition; Berry, powder puff; Barbour, “A T es we have no Bananas” ; Hoag, .Spanish dancer; Messrs J. Davey, tin soldier; G. Aloffitt, pierrot; H. Rodgers, bing boy; F. Ball, golliwog; J. Rodgers, jester; Chamberlain, parson; J. AfcGaw, jockey; A r jrtue, Uncle Tom; L. Doc-krill, nigger; J. Smithers, pierrot. Among the many others present were: Aiisses Howell, K. Davey, Triggs, A\ r yatt (2), Aloffitt, Smitiiers, Kell.aban, Beck (2), Cross, Alintrom, Smithers, Hill, AA ilson, AVhiteliouse (2), Jones, ..Aloody, Russell, Langridge, Alesdames Hooper, Vucetich, Davey, Booth, Thoreau, Neale, Chapman; Alessrs Bryant, Gunn, Bates, Scott, AVilson, Brown, Ellis Goodwin, Dockrill, Alason, Brice, Jones. Alesdames G. A r . Gerard and F. A. Raymond acied as judges and prizes were donated as follows: —Best fancy costume, Air and Aiiss Newman “The Sheik and his Bride”; most original, Aiiss Cicely Davey, ruination; Air S. Chittock, sunerstition. Afiss Dewar’s orchestra supplied good music, and Air C. E. Hooper acted as AI.C.
