Mrs J. Alansel returned on Thursday from a visit to Christchurch. Miss Ij- Cartwright, Mighfield is back from Mayfield, where she was the guest of Mrs R. Gillies. Miss Nell Armstrong, Chalmers Street, who has been in Christchurch for some months, returned home yesterday.
Miss Olive Hassell, “Carshalton,” North Street, is back from a visit to her sister, Mrs Barry-Martm, Wellington.
Mr and Mrs J .G. Phillips with Mr W. G. Macindoe (Dunedin), arrived from the south on Wednesday, and aro staying at' the Grosvenor. The Kiwi Patrol of the St. Mary’s Girl Guide company entertained a number of friends, at a subscription social in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening. With games and dancing a most enjoyable time was spent by. those present.
