WOOL SOARING.

HIGHER PRICES AT NAPIER.

By Telegraph— Association,

NAPIER, Nov. 21. The second wool sale of the 192.4 — 25 New Zealand season took place In Napier. The catalogues comprised 11,747 bales. The condition was the best that Hawke's Bay has produced, in fact, one broker stated that’ in 22 years he had never seen better. Buyers were present in record numbers for Napier. It is thought that there was an average advance of a penny per lb on the Wellington prices. Agents of almost every make of motor car on the New Zealand market -covered the vicinity of the ther atre with cars for which they held the agency, in an endeavour to catch vendors of wool in the happy mood created by high prices. . Fully, 80 per cent of the Wool'. offered was suitable'for the requirements of America and Bradford, and in most cases these buyers outbid Continental representatives, as several buyers appeared to have no limits. The sale went with a swing, and practically the whole catalogue was sold under the hammer at prices much in excess of reserves. Practically no fleece wool was sold under 20d per lb, and the prices were often as high as 28d and 30d. Medium and coarse crossbred showed a greater advance than finer wools.
