The wife of Mr Darrell Figgis (member of the Dail Eireanp), engaged a taxi-cab in Dublin and told the driver to go to a distant part of the mountains. The driver heard shots, and; ‘found his fare iincpnscious with a bullet wound in her head. She was taken to hospital and died. ,
At the inquest, the husband gave evidence that her nerves were shattered by the evepts during the past ten years. She suffered severe pain from an injury to her nook, caused by raiders at their house in 1922, when, in her presence, (bey cut off hjs beard. A verdict was returned of death from a wound self-inflicted, while temporarily insane.
