ROW AT DRINKING PARTY

AUCKLAND Nov. 20. At the police court, Ernest John Brasting (26), a. motor mephanie, was charged with haying assaulted Albert Welsh at Buckland’s Beach, so as to cause actual bodily harm. Complaintant said he was invited to a house by a woman acquaintance, and there met other men and women. He had taken two bottles of' whisky, front which the party drank. Accused subsequently hit him as he was sitting in a chair, fracturing his jaw. Accused, in evidence, said he objected to Welsh’s attitude towards a womap to whom accused was engaged. Welsh wqs trying to hit and kick him. In self defence accused struck Welsh.

Accused, who pleaded pot guilty, reserved his defence, and was committed for trial.
