MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
TIMARU—WEDNESDAY, NOV. 12. (Before air E. D. Mosley, S.M.) CIVIL CASES. Judgment by default for the amount claimed was awarded plaintiffs in the following cases: —G. F. Doyle v. J. Barlow, claim .£l2, costs £2 14s; C. Bright v. M. Edwards, claim' £1 IDs, costs 9s; S. Major v. R. N. Taylor, claim £lO 25.6 d, costs £2 15s. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. In the judgment summons case, Mardells Ltd (Christchurch) against Louis Watson, to recover £8 7s for goods supplied. Mr C. Jones represented plaintiffs and Mr A. L. Hudson appeared for defendant. Counsel for plaintiffs opposed defendant's request for a re-hearing of the case. Mr Hudson said that judgment debtor would consent to an order ol 5s per week. His case was one of hardship, and it was not a question of paying the debt, as he had not the money to pay His Worship said thgt defendant had appeared before him last Wednesday, and the position then was very unsatisfactory. In that case defendant bail made representations to plaintiff, (who was a widow), that ho was in a nourishing condition, thus obtaining hoard on credit for a much longer period than he would have obtained it otherwise. Defendant was ordered to pay the amount due in dclault eight days imprisonment in Baparua prison; the warrant to he suspended so long as defendant paid the sum of 5s per week until such time as the full amount is paid ML .
