FREEZING WORKS.
AMALGAMATION COMING. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, Juiy 2. There has been much talk lately of an amalgamation of freezing works interests, but nothing has been made public as to whether any action was being taken. To-day, however, a representative of the “Times” gleaned that something is about to happen in regard to the Feiiding Farmers’ Freezing Works. The reporter learnt that the present manager, Mr H. G. Stringer, had been notified that in consequence of forthcoming amalgamation with some interest nr interests riot disclosed his services will shortly te dispensed with. There is a movement on foot, and in fact arrangements have almost been completed, to bring into effect an amalgamation, together with a reorganisation. It is believed that the steps to bo taken in the meantime will affect only the North Island.
