SIR JAMES ALLEN'S ACTIVITIES. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. (Received 10.55 p.m., July 1.) LONDON, July 1. ' Sir James Allen, High Commissioner for New Zealand, interviewed the inventor of the Spahlinger treatment foi consumption, at Geneva. Dr. Spahlinger agreed to the suggestion that he should produce both serum and vaccine, and promised to make some proposal regarding New Zealand. He undertook that supplies wofild bo available by September. Doctor G. J. Blackmore, of the Cashmere Sanatorium, Christchurch, with Sir James Allen, arranged an interview for July 8. Dr. Blackmore will make a full investigation of Dr. Spahlinger’s claims. Sir James Allen states that he answered the Geneva Permanent Mandate Commission’s questions which extended over two hours. The Commission had no criticism to offer, hut complimented New Zealand, especially regarding its measures in connection with the. health of the natives, and were disposed to regard Samoa as a model among the mandated territories.

Sir James Allen invited, the Belgian King to unveil a Messines battle memorial at. the end of July, and the King assented, subject to the date being suitable.
