; The Hon. James Craigie, M.L.C., left Timavu for Hokitika yesterday. Mr G. W. Forbes, M.P., for Hurunui, passed through Timaru yesterday by express for Christchurch. Mr W. J- Poison (Dominion President of the Farmers’ Union), left Tijnaru for Oamaru yesterday, 'Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P., for Tejnuka, was in Timaru yesterday. Mr F. D. McGovern, manager in Timaru, of the Bank of N.S. Wales, left for Auckland yesterday. Mr T. M. Wilford (Leader of the Opposition) passed through Timaru yesterday, oh his return north from Oamaru. Mr A- L. Marshall returned to Timaru from a trip to Australia yesterday. Sir Joseph Ward will pass through Timaru to-day, on his return north from Invercargill. Mr M. D. Calvert, of the head office Btaff of Messrs Reid and Gray, is taking over the management of the Timaru branch from Mr Gray jun., who is being transferred to the head office, Dunedin. Mr Calvert arrived in town early this week. Mrs T. E. Taylor, president of the Christchurch branch of the Women’s Christian. Temperance Union, and vice-president for the Dominion, is expected to be present next week at the Temuka, Pleasant Point, and Fairlie meetings of that organisation. A Press Association message from London says that Princess Christian is seriously ill from a heart attack, following on influenza. Princess Christian was born on May 25, 1846. She is a daughter of the late Queen Victoria, ana an aunt of King George V. She was married in 1866 to H.R.H. Prince Christian of Schleswig, Holstein, who died in 1917. She has one son and two daughters living. ___
