ULSTER’S POSITION. THE F.S. TARIFF* BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN.—COPYRIGHT (Received 11.30 p.m., April 2.) London, March 31. Ulster’s first financial year resulted in a surplus of £70,000, after contributing, £6,000,000 to the Imperial Exchequer. The inauguration of the Free fciate Tariff caused amazing on the Ulster border. The Free State is using all kinds _ ot vehicles to rush provisions across tho border, in ordei 1 to evade the Customs. One thousand householders accumulated vast quantities of goods sufficient for six months. Hundreds of motor oars were also sent across. The Free State with a view to stopping smug-mig, has placed guards on the frontier. A. and N.Z. Cable.
