A.J.C. MEETING. DAVID WINS THE CUP. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN—COPYRIGHT (Received 8.30 p.m.; Monday.) SYDNEY, Monday. For tho second day of the A.J.G. Autumn meeting, the weather wa3 fine and cool, and the attendance was 75,000. The racing was conducted under ideal conditions, and proved enjoyabhle, and in many cases fruitful to patrons. The Cup was a triumph for an old favourite who was usually considered incapable of winning handicap events, yet it always held handy position. Cypher was always conveniently placed, but was unable to reproduce Saturday’s brilliant finishing effort. Results:

FLYING HANDICAP—FIeu site 8.6, 1; Wrangle, 8.0, 2; Glenacre, 9.5, 8. There were eighteen 'starters. It was anybody’s race. Entering the straight Fieri site forged to the front at the half distance, and won by a length. Time, lmin. 12 l-sscc. EASTER STAKES—Trilisa 1, Quintas 2, Linawav 3. Ten starters. Quintas and Trilisa fought out the finish down the straight, Trilisa winning by two lengths, lime, lmin. 26} secs. SYDNEY CUP.—David (Wood), 9.7, 1; Heir Apparent (Lewis), 7.12, 2; Shillingleo (Shanahan) 7.2, 3. Rover and Kingsfiold wore non-starters. The field moved off together, Happy Queen and Shillingleo taking charge until approaching six furlongs. David, lying third since the start, won from Cypher, in sixth. Rounding the bend the field hunched, Shilhnglee leading into the straight. Then David shot to the front, inside the distance, challenged by Bit alii. Heir Apparent staffed off the latter by a length, Shillinglee running into third place, and Cypher fourth. Time, 3min. 20} secs.

FIRST STEEPLECHASE—Bin e 8.0, 1; Stone Marten, 11.6, 2; Copina 11.9, 3. Twelve starters. Sir Noel and Zarahine fell, and Blue wont to the front at half way and won by fivo lengths. Time, 4min. 42 2-ssecs. FIRST NURSERY HANDICAP. Firs© Division —Bribie, 8.9, 1; Ridicule. 7.10, 2; Coolah, 8.9, 3. Won by a long head. Time, lmin. 13} sees. Second Division. —Rose Carmen, 8 8 I: Wirian, 8.2, 2; All Sunshine, 8.0, 3. Won by a length. Time, 1 min. 14:} sees. HTGH WEIGHT HANDICAP.Purser, 11.3. 1; Easter Week, 8.9, 2; Stony, 9.T0, 3.
