The Cabinet’s decision regarding the 1921 class means an addition of over 200,000 to the existing army of 736,261. It will be larger than the combined armies of Britain, Germany, Italy and Belgium. Tiie “Morning Post’s” Dusseldorf correspondent states that 1000 Germau railway workers serving under French control are unskilled and unreliable. Many are undoubtedly spies who entered the French service in order tu betray their fellow i countrymen. Others are daring saboteurs. One was actually caught to-day cutting telephone wires. The “.Daily Chronicle” says that the French arrived in the suburbs of Frankfurt-a-Main, and stopped all traffic towards the city. Herr Jarres, chief burgomaster of Aix La Cbappeile, appealed against a month’s imprisonment*. The appeal was dismissed, and the sentence doubled.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
