SOUTH CANTERBURY ASSN.

A meeting of the Management Committee of the South Canterbury Cricket Association was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs B. R. Macdonald (in the chair), A. E. Izzard, R. 11. Taylor, M. Houlihan, F. S. Cave, and N. Earl (hon. sec.). The Canterbury Cricket Association wrote suggesting January 24th and 25th as suitable dates for a match against the Canterbury touring team.—lt was decided to play the game at Temuka, commencing the first day at 12.30 and playing till 6.30, and playing on the second day from 10 a.m. till 2.30 p.m. Letters were received from the South Canterbury Swimming Centre and from the United Fiendly Societies’ Picnic Committee askng that all competition games be postponed on January 27th'? —After a short discussion it was unanimously decided to postpone the games set down for that date.

The chairman, in referring to the recent visit of the M.C.C. team, said that the Association wished to convey its most sincere thanks to the following gentlemen who had kindly lent their cars to convey the members of the teams to and from Temuka: — Messrs J. W. Souter, C. Thompson, R. Hunter-Weston, Gladstone Robinson, H. M. Stonyer, W. K. Macdonald, and Adams Ltd. Mr Macdonald also stated that the Temuka Cricket Club were to be heartily congratulated on the splendid wicket they had prepared. Thanks were due also to the Temuka ladies who provided such delicious afternoon teas on each day of the match. Mr Macdonald then thanked the officials of the Associaton for the splendid way in which they had worked and so made the match a financial success. A rough balance sheet in connection with the English match was presented, but as there were seVeral small items outstanding it was decided to defer discussion. MATCH WITH CANTERBURY. The following team has been selected to represent Canterbury on a southern tour, meeting South Canterbury at Temuka bn January 24th and 25th, and playing the annual match with Otago on the 26th, 27th, and 29th:—M. Boon, R. C. Blunt, W. Cunningham, R. E. Gregory, J. McEwin, W. R. Patrick, R. F. J. Powell,' R. Read, D. McK. Sandman, R. O. Talbot, R. D. Worker.
