A record has been established in the Dunedin Cup at the Forbury Park trotting meeting, the three-year-old Logan Chief having been placed on a 4.30 mai;k. No horse of this age in New Zealand had been previously rated faster than 4.35. An unusual course was adopted by the handicapper to the Manawatu Trotting Club, who penalised Change 84yds in one race and 60yds in another event for his second at Wellington. The practice in the South Island is to rehandicap winners only. Changq was brought home immediately the rehandicaps -were posted.
