GREEKS REFUSE ENTRY.
BURN DEAD IN FURNACE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 9 p.m., January IT.) ATHENS, January 16. A veritable death ship arrived at Piraeus from Samsoun (Constantinople), of 2000 passengers, of whom 1600 were stricken with typhus, smallpox and cholera, including two out of three doctors. Thirty-five dead were buried at sea and '25 more died in the harbour. The Greek health authorities ordered the bodies to be burned in the ships’ furnaces. The Government debarred the admission of further refugees until the epidemic should be controlled.— A. and N.Z. Cable.
