Wlien Irregulars readied the centre of Memel, there was violent combat for the High Commissioner’s offices. The High Commissioner, owing to the numerical superiority of the invaders, ordered “cease firing.” A truce was arranged, and a neutral zone established. The Commissioner sent the leader of the insurgents a strong protest against the “coup do force.” The Ambassadors’’ Conference will deal with the situation tomorrow. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
