PAN PACIFIC CONGRESS. PROPOSAL TURNED DOWN. ' Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, August 9. At t'u© Pan Pacific Congress, bold in Honolulu, last year, it was unanimously decided that tho next meet ing shoo id bo held in New Zealand if the Government of the Dominion would extend the invitation to that effect'. Tho gathering was timed to coincide with tho next meeting of the Australasian Association for tho Advancement of 'Science, which is to he held in Wellington in January, 1023, and it would have attracted scientific delegates from most countries bordering on tho Pacific. The New Zealand Government has turned down the proposal, and the consequence is that the Congress will bo invited to moot in Japan, whore toe authorities are much' alive to scientific! advancement.
