NEW ENGINEERING SYNDICATE.

The Werry engine syndicate, -with a capital of £IO,OOO, lias agreed to form, a company witli a minimum capital of £300,000. The syndicate is arranging to construct big steampsliip engines, also express locomotive aeroplane, motor car,_ marine motor, and motor cycle engines.

LONDON WOOL SALES.

At the wool sales super-merinos and fine crossbreds were exceedingly firm. Carbonising wools -\Vere irregularAt the Bradford market there is a strong inquiry for merino and finer crossbreds at fullest rates. Others are unchanged.

A revised estimate of the position of Australian wool shows: Available. 1000 bales; estimated shipments 225,000 bales monthly, April to September, leaving 917.848 bales of Australian for shipment on 30th September.

ZINC MANUFACTURE

An association of Belgian t-peltev manufacturers has been formed at Liege, comprising seven large companies. with a producing capacity of nearly 320,000 tons of spelter. Other zinc producing companies are expected to join shortly;
